Growing-up in Greenville, North Carolina, we were taught the values of outdoor life. My father, Bob Gilbert loved to fish. Here we are with some nice "Rock Fish" probably taken in the Pamlico Sound, North Carolina.
While I was learning to clean fish, my brother Don was planning his future at IBM. You can see the corner of our frame house in the background. A three bedroom 50's house. A great place to grow-up. We had our own private swamp in the backyard, complete with snakes, poison ivy, turtles and cane fields.
